Google employees have staged a sit-in protest at the company’s San Francisco offices over a contract that provides artificial intelligence tools to the Israeli military. Around a dozen employees participated in the demonstration, holding signs that read, “We will not be complicit #DropDragonfly #Resist.”
The protest comes after news broke that Google had contracted with an Israeli company known for developing AI technology used by the Israeli military to engage in surveillance and policing operations. Employees are concerned about the ethical implications of this contract and have urged Google to end its collaboration with the Israeli military.
