NASA is set to launch a solar sail for sunlight-powered space travel. The mission aims to demonstrate the feasibility of using solar radiation for propulsion in space. The spacecraft will be launched by a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket and will unfurl a large, lightweight sail that captures sunlight to propel itself through space. This technology could potentially allow for infinite propulsion in space, enabling missions to explore much farther distances than traditional spacecraft. The launch is scheduled for no earlier than July 2021.
