NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has captured new high-resolution images of the moon’s surface, including the landing site of South Korea’s first lunar mission, the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO). This mission landed on the moon in December 2022 with the goal of studying the lunar surface and collecting valuable data. The images captured by LRO provide additional insight into the area surrounding the KPLO landing site, enhancing our understanding of the moon’s geology and topography. By studying these images, scientists hope to uncover more information about the moon’s history and formation.
